Meet Marina
A journey from survival to freedom.
The experiences that shaped my life became the foundation of the work I do today.
A journey from survival to freedom.
The experiences that shaped my life became the foundation of the work I do today.
Like many people, I didn't realize I was living in survival mode. I thought it was simply who I was.
Over the years, life brought challenges I never expected—from childhood trauma and financial hardship to divorce, cancer, grief, and rebuilding my life more than once.
Looking back, I no longer see those experiences simply as obstacles. They became the teachers that showed me what freedom truly means.
If you'd like to learn more about my personal journey, I share it in much greater depth in my book, From Survival to Freedom.
For many years, I believed my greatest gift was giving people hope. Today, I see hope differently.
Hope opens the door. Freedom begins when we choose to walk through it.
Freedom is a prayer followed by action.
I don't believe freedom is something we wait for. It isn't found when life finally becomes easy. It begins the moment we stop allowing our past to define our future and grows through awareness, courage, compassion, and the willingness to take the next step.
A few years ago, while working with a client, an image came to me that has stayed with me ever since.
I invited her to imagine walking along a quiet beach toward a lighthouse.
As she walked, she left behind the noise of fear, limiting beliefs, and survival.
When she reached the lighthouse, she climbed higher and higher until she stepped into the light itself.
From there, she could look back over the ocean.
The waves that had once seemed overwhelming now looked small.
The things that had controlled her no longer seemed so powerful.
She hadn't changed the ocean.
She had changed her perspective.
I began using the lighthouse with many other clients, and over time I realized it wasn't simply a visualization.
It had become the philosophy that now guides my own life and much of the work I do today.
The lighthouse doesn't rescue anyone.
It doesn't walk the journey for them.
It simply stands, quietly waiting.
When we're ready to walk toward it, everything begins to look different.
There is no single path to freedom, because freedom means something different to each of us.
We all begin from different places, carry different stories, and are called toward different futures.
Freedom isn't a destination we arrive at once. It's a journey that continues to evolve as we grow, deepen our awareness, and return more fully to who we truly are.
Whether you're looking for deep personal transformation, meaningful conversations, inspiration, or practical tools, here are a few ways we can explore that journey together.
If you're ready to move beyond survival patterns and create lasting change, I offer Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) and coaching in a safe, compassionate environment.
Together we'll explore the beliefs, emotions, and patterns that may no longer serve you, helping you reconnect with who you truly are.

Sometimes another person's story helps us see our own more clearly.
The To Freedom Podcast features authentic conversations with people who have faced life's challenges and discovered new perspectives, purpose, and freedom along the way.
My book shares the personal journey that shaped my understanding of freedom and the lessons that continue to guide my life and work today.
If you'd like to understand the philosophy behind To Freedom more deeply, this is where the story begins.
Learn About the Book
Whether for conferences, community events, podcasts, or organizations, I speak about resilience, survival patterns, personal transformation, and discovering freedom in everyday life.
My goal isn't simply to inspire. It's to leave people seeing themselves—and their possibilities—with fresh eyes.
Because I believe we connect through stories, not résumés.
I believe freedom looks different for everyone.
Through my To Freedom Podcast, I am so blessed to learn that every person has a different definition of what "freedom" means to them.
That's why I don't tell people what their life should look like. My role is to help them discover what freedom means to them.
I have a soft spot for animals.
If you've listened to my podcast, you've probably heard stories about my German Shepherd, Ella, my previous Shepherd-cross Khaleesi and my Snowshoe Siamese Misty.
If you want to learn how to stay present, just observe them.
Music has always been part of my life.
I started to perform on stage at the age of 5 and I am still doing it today.
I co-own a company called Festive Voices and the only thing we do is to sing Christmas Carols around Calgary every Christmas Season.
I also sing in a Big Band a Church Choir and frequently perform as a background vocalist for a local producer.
Singing is a spirit language to me, a major way for me to reconnect with myself.
I love to garden
Every spring and summer, my garden in filled with beautiful flowers, apples and vegetables.
Sitting on my backyard swing is my happy place.
My favourite conversations are the real ones.
The kind where people stop pretending everything is fine and begin talking honestly about life. Stories of substance and depth. Stories that makes me sit in awe of how amazing life is.
Ever since I wrote my book and started to speak more openly about my childhood, I became aware that there are millions of stories that shape and teach us. Every time I host a new guest, I learn something from them.
The lighthouse is more than a symbol.
It became my philosophy and one of the best examples of how I reached a place of inner freedom and can remain in it every day.
Wherever your journey has brought you, I hope you'll find something here that reminds you freedom is possible.
